The Opportunity :

Academic Services for Student-Athletes (ASSA) is offering an exciting opportunity to gain work experience as a full-time Assistant Academic Advisor. ASSA is a unit of Student Success & Well-being (SSWB), which provides academic support for student-athletes. Individuals interested in this position would have the opportunity to work with a highly competitive program, participate in trainings, and receive full-time experience to sharpen your skills as an athletic academic advisor.

We are currently looking to fill 3-4 positions within ASSA. The position is for the Summer 2024, Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with assigned students weekly, assisting with academic progress monitoring and planning.
  • Assist students with academic skill development.
  • Assist advisors with daily tasks. Examples include: Compiling reports (study hall, grades, eligibility, class schedules, class checking report); Assist with recruiting; Monitor team study halls; Class checking
  • Participate in bi-weekly trainings relevant to academic advising and learning specialist responsibilities.
  • Flexible schedule; Must be able to work nights and weekends.
