Organization's Summary Statement: The Assistant Athletic Director of Fan Development and Event Marketing will manage the day-to-day operations of the unit, including budget allocation and management, direct oversight of various staff members, and serving as the main liaison to athletic department leadership and other units.

This position will directly oversee the strategic vision for creating a fan-centric experience at Maryland Football games at SECU Stadium, including the development and implementation for gameday elements with a focus on creating a high-energy environment and memorable fan experiences; Duties include: preparing and coordinating the execution of videoboard format and public address scripts, directing event marketing and production staff, and creating innovative and exciting gameday activations and entertainment while ensuring brand standards and meaningful partner integrations and creating a holistic gameday experience for a variety of targeted fan segments (students, families, local community, etc.) to feature touchpoints beyond videoboard and audio entertainment, providing an engaging fan journey from point of arrival until the last whistle.

Additional responsibilities include:
Direct oversight of two full-time staff members (Director & Assistant Director) and others indirectly—all responsible for the fan development and event marketing for Maryland athletic events. The position will be under the direct supervision of the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Operations.

Physical Demands: The scope of the position frequently requires evening, weekend, and holiday work (non-standard work hours). While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee operates a computer and other office devices such as telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc.; constantly moves about the facility and event site before, during, and after events to service clients; and continually communicates via telephone, email, and in person with others to exchange accurate information. Standing, walking, kneeling/crouching, balancing, and lifting up to 15 pounds.

Preferences: Six (6) years of experience in an athletics event marketing setting, preferably at the collegiate level.
