Job Description
The Assistant AD for Marketing and Engagement is the senior marketing leader for
SMSU
Athletics and directs, develops, implements, and supports comprehensive strategies, activities, and projects that drive revenue (including tickets sales and corporate sponsorship activation), increase visibility and attendance, support recruitment, and enhance in-game and fan experiences. The Assistant AD serves as the Director of the Mustang Club; developing and implementing a marketing plan focused on increasing membership in the Mustang Club. Additionally,
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Marketing, Sports Management or a related field plus one year of professional experience in sports-related field OR Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sports Management or a related !field plus two years of professional experience in sport-related field. Related fields could include marketing, sports management, game and/or event operations, athletic administration, ticket sales/advertising, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience and knowledge in Intercollegiate Athletics to understand the areas of game management, scheduling, ticketing, fund raising, and special events.
Have knowledge and understanding of
NCAA
,
NSIC
and Minnesota State System policies and procedures in order to work with compliance, fiscal responsibilities, donor relations, and equity in athletics issues.
Possess computer skills for word processing, database and spreadsheets.
Demonstrated abilities to supervise and manage staff.
Have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills.
