UD is currently seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer who will provide services for the
prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports related injuries to University of
Dallas student athletes. Additionally, this position will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in
providing training to coaches and, when appropriate, other members of the UD community,
and provide proper coverage for all UD athletic events and athletic training room supervision.

SUMMARY
UD is currently seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer who will provide services for the
prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports related injuries to University of
Dallas student athletes. Additionally, this position will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in
providing training to coaches and, when appropriate, other members of the UD community,
and provide proper coverage for all UD athletic events and athletic training room supervision.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with the Head Athletic Trainer to provide CPR, AED and First Aid training and
certification to coaching staff and, when appropriate, other members of the UD
community.
• Provide comprehensive sports medicine health care service for student athletes in the
areas of preventative medicine, injury assessment, treatment of injuries and post
rehabilitation.
• Assist Head Athletic Trainer with the management of facility inventory and supplies.
• Assist Head Athletic Trainer with Emergency Action Plan.
• Provide coverage of practices and athletic competition for UD sports teams.
• Administer first aid and emergency care to athletes for athletic-related injuries and
determine appropriate medical referral as warranted; coordinate with the University
physician and arrange appointments with specialists, as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of all injuries and treatments.
• Provide athletic training services at home events and at home practice sessions.
• Maintain well communicate with Athletic Director, Coaches, Head Athletic Trainer and
Physicians.
• Assist in supervising student workers and providing instruction on how to utilize and
maintain training room equipment; assist the Head Athletic Trainer in maintaining the
training room.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA Sports Medicine Handbook.
• Assist in the administration of university insurance program for athletics.
• Travel with teams when necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Certification by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification.
• Ability to communication technical information to non-technical personnel clearly and
effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of wide range CPR and first-aid techniques.
• Knowledge of physical therapy theory and practice.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Two years of experience in athletic training.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• May require travel for sporting events and prolonged or irregular work hours, including
evenings and/or weekend, during the competitive season.
• Must maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
• Must be eligible for Texas State Licensure.
• Must maintain NATA membership/certification in good standing.
