K-State Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for an ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER , which is a full-time, salaried, benefits-eligible position.
An example of job duties includes but are not limited to:
Administer preventative taping on student-athletes, purchase and fit special equipment, maintain safety equipment at practices and competitions and administer emergency procedures to injured athletes during practices and games/competitions; ensure adequate supplies and necessary training equipment is brought on team travel trips; assist with NCAA and Big 12 on-site drug testing and institutional drug testing as directed.
Under direction of team physician, assist in application of therapeutic modalities and treatments, implement rehabilitation programs for players after surgery for off-season injuries or preventative exercise in response to pre-season screening results; maintain records of all student-athlete treatments and injuries, distribute approved non-prescription medications according to team physician’s orders; make appointments with approval of Director of Sports Medicine for players to see private physicians when referred by team physician.
Prepare student-athlete injury reports for Head Coach, and periodic progress reports on rehabilitation of player injuries throughout the year. Keep current on new training techniques by reading current, relevant literature, and attend workshops and conventions, as time permits.
Coordinate insurance information with parents and Sport’s Medicine’s insurance coordinator. Meet recruits, show them the facilities and discuss injuries and rehabilitation programs.

What You'll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree at time of application in Kinesiology, Higher Ed, Athletic Training, or related field
Two years of experience providing athletic training services for a professional sport organization or NCAA Division I sport program or professional sport organization.
Must have current NATA certification; be eligible, successfully apply and receive a State of Kansas Athletic Training License
Preferred Qualifications:
Three to five years of experience providing athletic training services for a professional sport organization or NCAA Division I sport program.
Other Requirements:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
Must be able to travel with teams(s)
Must have a valid driver’s license at all times
