Summary:

Reports to the Head Basketball Coach. Responsible for providing representation of student athletes of Alabama A&M University at the NCAA Division I level in Men’s Basketball.

Examples of Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting in recruiting, organizing, motivating and counseling student athletes.
  • Responsible for the associated with recruiting: Letters of Intent (signing) and Official visits.
  • Monitors the students’ class attendance, study hall, grades, commencement ceremonies and travel.
  • Serves as a role model for student-athletes.
  • Responsible for discipline, personal appearance, conduct, image and general behavior of all student athletes recruited and signed for Men’s Basketball.
  • Supervises staff and students in the department, who are assigned to this program. Acts as consultant and schedules team travel, hotel, meals and etc.
  • Evaluates athletes on physical condition and advises them on maintaining maximum physical fitness for participation in athletic competition.
