Purpose of the Position:

The Assistant Coach, Women's Softball will assist the Head Softball Coach in team management and administration to support and reinforce the Athletics department and University goals.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Recruit and evaluate quality student athletes
• Train, teach and provide instruction to student-athletes both on and off of the field
• Help to Maintain compliance with NCAA departmental and University rules and regulations
• Assist in establishing game plans
• Scout opponents
• Coordinate Team Travel
• Maintain correspondence with recruits
• Assist with preparing the budget
• Assist with program fundraising efforts
• Coordinate film exchange
• Coordinate game day management
• Organize information for visiting teams
• Coordinate equipment purchase and maintenance

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
• Must have coaching experience at the college level
• Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Must have basic accounting skills
• Must have excellent interpersonal written and communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Master’s degree is preferred
• Knowledge of Sports Management is desired
