Title: Assistant Director of Game Operations, Events, and Championships

Position Summary:

The position of Assistant Director of Game Operations, Events and Championships is to primarily assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Game Operations, Events and Championships with all event and facility operations as well as the additional needs of the Athletic Facilities, Game Operations, Events and Championships department. The Assistant Director of Game Operations, Events and Championships works closely with both internal and external constituents, including Duke University campus departments, outside groups requesting use of Athletic spaces and Atlantic Coast Conference, and NCAA officials as well as Duke University Athletics coaches, staff, and guests.

Essential Functions:

· Serve as primary event manager and scheduling contact for Duke Baseball at Jack Coombs Field and Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP) as well as serve as secondary facility and grounds manager for facility.

· Serve as primary event manager for campus and outside events as assigned by Assistant Athletic Director of Game Operations, Championships & Events.

· Assist Assistant AD with Emergency Medical Response and Emergency Action Plans, including Severe Weather Operations plan management and communication for Duke Baseball.

· Serve as primary event manager for campus and outside events as assigned by Assistant Athletic Director of Game Operations, Championships & Events.

· Serve as tournament director for on-campus ACC and NCAA championships hosted at Jack Coombs Field or the DBAP and assist with championships conducted in other facilities for assigned event management sports.

· Collaborate with Durham Sports Commission and promoters, under the direction of the Assistant AD, to generate revenue and non-revenue events hosted on the Athletics campus specifically within baseball facilities and those in other facilities as need dictates.

· Assist with athletic facility maintenance, upkeep, and renovation projects as assigned by Deputy AD, Director of Capital Planning or Director of Facilities.

· Serve as the primary event manager for Duke Fencing as assigned by Assistant AD.

· Serve as the secondary event manager for Duke Football as assigned by Assistant AD.

· Serve as basketball game day entry operations manager and complete associated season and game-by-game prep assigned by primary game manager in support of operations.

· Assist with game day operations for additional varsity sports, as assigned by Assistant AD.

· Other duties as assigned by the Assistant AD, Director of Facilities, or Deputy AD to support day to day operations, career goals, and other office staff as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

Work requires three years of experience in program administration or OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events.
