The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning

ROLE of the POSITION

The primary purpose of this position is to administer a comprehensive strength and conditioning program with the Women’s Basketball team as well as assist with other team(s) as specified by the Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports.  Position goals include developing programs to increase athletic ability in order to prevent injuries and to improve performance for a variety of student athletes with various skill levels.

Expectations of this position are to administer, coordinate, develop, implement and teach year-round strength and conditioning programs to all student-athletes at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, while instilling a winning attitude and work ethic. Travel will be expected as requested by the sports coach.

This position should have knowledge of NCAA rules as they pertain to assigned job duties and the scope of employment.  In addition, the position will be responsible for obtaining proper guidance or approval from Athletics Compliance prior to participating in select activities, as defined by NCAA bylaws or institutional policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and a minimum of two (2) years as a collegiate strength and condition certified coach in addition to experience under a certified strength coach. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
