Job Summary
Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting in the evaluation, recruitment, training and coaching of student- athletes to compete successfully against the highest level of NCAA intercollegiate competition in a quality sports program. The Assistant Coach is held directly accountable for these general responsibilities related to the assigned sports program: assist with the overall management and administration of the assigned sports program, compliance with the budget of the program, and the recruiting, training and performance of student-athletes, as assigned by the Head Coach.
Key Qualifications
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and policies
- Coaching philosophy and teaching concepts must be compatible with those of the Head Coach
- Ability to work cooperatively with coaches, staff, faculty, students and members of the community
- Ability and willingness to support the diversity and equity commitments of the department
- Commitment to academic integrity and compliance with University, conference and NCAA regulations

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution
- Experience coaching football at the collegiate level, in the NFL, or other professional football league.

Supplemental Information
Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with California State University, Fresno. This will require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within six (6) months of assuming office and every two (2) years thereafter.
