Job Duties

- Assist the head men’s basketball coach in managing and directing the basketball program.
- Assist the head coach with all aspects of the team including training, competing and scheduling.
- Organize and maintain accurate inventory of basketball equipment and uniforms.
- Coordinate travel arrangements.
- Coordinate scouting and video exchange.
- Coordinate facility needs of visiting teams.
- Organize and complete all required paperwork.
- Assist the administration with alumni relations and scholarship fundraising.
- Commit to and ensure adherence to all rules and regulations set forth for the team, the University, the Southland Conference and the NCAA.
- Assist with recruiting including calling prospective student-athletes, evaluating high school and junior college players.
- Work cooperatively with personnel in the athletics department, attending department meetings and activities, and always representing the University positively when interacting with the community, alumni, high school and club coaches, media and general public.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to effectively recruit, coach and teach highly talented student-athletes.
- Ability to effectively scout opponents and break down game video.
- A proven record in following directives and being responsible for assigned tasks.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment as needed.
- Ability to effectively apply budgeting and fiscal planning techniques within financial constraints.
- Ability to effectively establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Ability to communicate effectively – orally, by phone, in person, via social media and in writing.
- Ability to effectively respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to market and promote UIW men’s basketball.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

| Required Education |
Bachelor’s Degree.

| Required Work Experience |
Two (2) years of basketball coaching experience at the college or university level. Note that experience at the graduate-assistant level will be considered.

| Preferred Qualifications |
Four (4) or more years of collegiate basketball coaching experience.

| Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations |
Must have a valid driver license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.

| Work Hours |
Business hours of Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm with flexibility; extended hours as required, including weekends, evenings and some holidays based on team schedule.
