Maintain the confidentiality of all information obtained while an employee of Kansas Athletics including all private, confidential, or sensitive information and ensuring compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Position:
Help manage and coordinate tutor schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all subjects. This involves assisting in scheduling initial tutoring sessions and adjust sessions as needed based upon tutor/student-athlete, or counselor requests;
Run daily attendance reports to share with academic staff. This responsibility includes resolving missing tutor reports, identifying red flags from sessions, and tracking student absences;
Monitor academic progress of student-athletes as it relates to daily tutor feedback, problem-solving with tutors and academic advisors, while maintaining constant communication with academic counselors. This includes providing updates on student-athlete academic progress and other information concerning the tutoring program;
Assist the recruitment and selection process of tutoring staff, including training and monitoring opportunities for further coaching or professional development;
Assist with the onboarding of new tutoring staff that includes, but not limited to, new hire training, observing tutoring sessions, and being available for questions and support;
Support training programs for new and existing tutors. Conduct training sessions and workshops as needed with tutors and tutoring staff;
Assist the Director of Learning services in providing support for special projects (e.g., updating tutor handbook), developing materials (e.g., student surveys and other training materials), coordinating tutor training and new hire orientation sessions, recruiting tutor candidates, processing weekly tutor timesheets, other duties as assigned;
Provide support and guidance to student-athletes to enhance their learning experience. Establish professional rapport with students in respective programs to ensure greatest opportunity for students to engage in tutoring;
Facilitate effective communication between tutors, students, and academic services staff. Coordinate the necessary academic support for students in coordination with strategic tutoring and learning assistant appointments;
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics or their designee.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent;
Experience with trends and issues for academic tutoring services;
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills;
Effective interpersonal skills to work with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds;
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail;
Ability to function effectively with multiple priorities, be well-organized and demonstrate effective time management;
Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
Sound judgment and discretion in working with confidential information and student records;
Proficient use of technology applications and student information systems;
Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows based computer applications;
Competent, efficient and cooperative in handling routine tasks, as well as special projects/assignments.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and various digital devices, including, but not limited to: cell phone, printer, copy machine, and other related devices. This job requires flexibility and adaptability in schedule and the ability to perform job related duties on short notice.

Travel is not required for this position.
Hours of Work
This is a part-time position. Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; work when classes are in session (fall, spring, summer) and one week prior to the start of each session.
