Job Summary/Description

Assists head volleyball coach with the coordination and management of the intercollegiate volleyball program. Assist with supervision of graduate assistant coaches, student assistants, managers, and student-athletes.

Typical Duties/Job Duties

1. Responsible for complying with all

, Angelo State, and Texas Tech University System policies, rules, and regulations.

1. Assists with practices, game strategy preparation, film review, and training regimes for volleyball player development.

2. Assists with recruiting potential volleyball student-athletes, including: assessing team needs, identifying talent, evaluating physical and academic capabilities of recruits, and projections of successful matriculation into ASU’s volleyball program and university.

3. Assists with player evaluation, academic support for student-athletes, promotion of the volleyball program, and community engagement activities for volleyball student-athletes.

4. Assists with fund raising activities, home event management duties, and additional athletic department required activities as assigned by the Director of Athletics or other University Administrators.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of volleyball skills, strategies, rules, and conditioning principles.

Ability to conduct practice drills and activities.

Ability to motivate student-athletes.

Skilled in oral and written communication.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited university or college required. Volleyball coaching experience or collegiate playing experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited university or college is preferred. Intercollegiate volleyball coaching experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

The position requires prolonged periods of standing with intermittent sitting, walking, reaching, bending and grasping. Manual dexterity is also necessary. Incumbent works mostly indoors.
