The University of Indianapolis is seeking an Associate Athletic Trainer to join our Sports Medicine team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with student-athletes in injury prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation, while supporting administrative tasks. The primary sport assignment will be determined by the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine, and the role will include collaboration with physicians from Community Health Network. The Associate Athletic Trainer will also have the opportunity to serve as a preceptor for UIndy’s accredited Professional Graduate Athletic Training Program.
Responsibilities:
Provide athletic training services such as injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for assigned sports
Cover practices, home and away competitions for an assigned sport
Serve as a liaison between student-athletes, physicians, coaching staff, and administrators
Prepare and submit secondary insurance claims for athletic injuries
Oversee and manage one of the University’s Athletic Training Facilities
Coordinate medical appointments and NCAA drug testing for student-athletes
Maintain detailed records in an electronic medical records system
Act as a clinical preceptor for graduate athletic training students
Assist with summer duties including inventory management, updating policies, and facility coverage

Experience:
3-5 years as a certified athletic trainer (preferred)
