| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Department of Athletics exists to provide educational and athletic opportunities to young men and women, to provide an environment for student-athletes to learn, advance and excel both academically and athletically, and to serve the interests of the University by complimenting and enhancing its diversity and quality of life. Through its athletic programs, the University seeks to unite alumni, faculty, administration and students in a common shared experience. The governing unit within the Department of Athletics is the Director’s Office, which is the administrative office and clearinghouse for the entire Department of Athletics, and promotes the department’s guiding principle of educating and inspiring through athletics. This unit provides support to administrators, coaches, staff members and student-athletes in order to provide and promote a premier intercollegiate athletic program for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Athletics is a highly visible public relations arm of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with statewide, national and international recognition.

| Position Summary |
The Business Operations Manager has responsibility to administer and manage all financial aspects of ticket office operations. Serve as primary liaison to Department of Athletics Business Office. Provide administrative expertise for ensuring the financial program operations of the Ticket Office are executed in compliance with the policies, procedures and core competencies of the Athletic Department. Utilizes Paciolan ticketing software to prepare and analyze sales audits & reports and settle all financials. Must communicate effectively (oral and written) with many groups in order to verify payment for tickets and all internal invoices. Assist with accounting of each item of inventory distributed. Provide assistance with coordinating the day to day functions for game day events, plan and organize activities, and communicate and interpret program policies and procedures. Demonstrates skills and abilities to assess and resolve problems that require research and review of procedures and policies. Must apply the policies of the Athletic Ticket Office in a manner consistent with University, ACC, and NCAA regulations.

| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

| Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Must demonstrate the skills and abilities to successfully manage all financial/operational aspects of the ticket office. Must exercise good judgment in all problem resolutions based on delegated authority from the Senior Assistant Athletic Director. Accuracy and attention to detail. Requires evening, weekend, and holiday work, in addition to occasional travel.

| Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sport administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Strong attention to detail. Effective communications skills (oral and written).
Ability to analyze reports. Demonstrated ability to interpret and explain policies and procedures. Experience with UNC-CH financial policies and systems, including Infoporte, and ConnectCarolina.
