Athletic Communications Assistant (Part-Time)

Position Overview

As a member of the athletics communications staff, the individual directs and oversees content and media material creation and distribution for selected Butler Athletics teams. This individual performs the role of an internal beat reporter, focusing on telling compelling stories in written, video, social media, graphics or other innovative formats. Duties also include generating and overseeing the distribution of record books/media guides, press releases and short-form video, stats and social media interactions. The individual is also responsible for developing external media relationships and managing media requests for assigned sports as well as managing gameday media relations duties including statistics.

Required Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to work nights and weekends
• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience working in a college athletics communications office preferred

• Familiarity with NCAA Live Stats and StatCrew software, video editing and graphic design preferred
