Under the direction of the Director of Athletic Communications, this position assists in the positive promotion of Goucher College Intercollegiate Athletics. The successful candidate will serve as the technical director for the Goucher Landmark Digital Network broadcasts and of all athletic web stream productions, as well disseminate daily and frequent social media communication on as many platforms as possible. This person also assists with Athletic Communication duties including updating the website and keeping in-game statistics along with the supervision of the department’s work-study students. The candidate will also have the opportunity to serve as primary contact for sports assigned by the Director of Athletic Communications, including writing press releases for the website.
Essential Job Functions:
25 % A. Responsible for developing content and production for Landmark Digital Network broadcasts. This will involve arranging to video webstream all sporting events where we have the technological capacity to stream. Identify and train student video stream crew on annual basis. This also involves arranging for the student workers, setting up the equipment, interfacing with the content provider, working with broadcast talent for select events, and creating the graphics to execute this function.
20 % B. Responsible for creating new video content for Goucher website and social media. This includes conducting and posting pregame and/or postgame interviews with coaches and players. Also looking for creative videos to get to know the student-athletes and coaches to tell human interest stories through video and social media.
20 % C. Responsible for assisting the Director of Athletic Communications develop and implement social media communication strategy on daily and weekly basis through multiple platforms (current, and the ones that develop).
10 % E. Assist with other content for the athletics website including written features, development and enhancement of records and archives and general website maintenance.

Education:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree
Professional Experience:
Required: Undergraduate experience in sports communications in a college or professional sports setting.
Preferred: Work as an undergraduate in a college sports information/athletic communications office, experience with video streaming production and creative video.
Additional Information
Compensation for this position will be offered as tuition remission and
$15.00 per hour. The Graduate Assisant can work up to 20 hours per week.
The successful candidate will be subject to a background check and driving record check as a condition of employment.
