Job Summary:
Under the direction of an Assistant Athletic Director, the Athletic Equipment Keeper I is responsible for handling a limited range of supplies and athletic equipment. The role involves assisting in the maintenance of the equipment storeroom and managing inventory, and ensuring the proper maintenance and issuance of athletic equipment and supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect dirty towels and uniforms from the locker room.
• Launder towels and uniforms and deliver to locker room or designated locations
• Retrieve equipment from locker rooms or competition areas
• Check assigned equipment and uniforms to ensure they are in working condition and inform appropriate staff if uniforms or equipment are in need of repairs
• Ensure that the laundry facility is stocked with needed supplies
• Provide updates to supervisor if there are issues or delays
• Adhere to safety rules and protocols at all times.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to work in an athletic setting and provide courteous and helpful service as outlined above.
  

Certificates and Licenses:

• Valid non-commercial class C driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat, grasp forcefully, and lift/carry/pull/push objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks and sort/file paperwork/parts or equipment.
• Occasionally perform seated work and lift/carry/push/pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Occasionally use a telephone and write by hand.
  

Working Conditions:

• May be required to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Exposure to laundry chemicals and noises greater than 80db TWA.

• Promote and maintain the integrity and reputation of Stanford University and its intercollegiate athletics program.
• Comply with University policies and procedures, laws, and NCAA and Atlantic Coast Conference rules and regulations.
• When conducting university business, comply with the California Vehicle Code and Stanford University driving requirements.
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills to work well with Stanford colleagues and external organizations.
• Commit to personal responsibility and safety; communicate safety concerns and promote safe behaviors.

This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford’s intercollegiate athletics program, recreation and wellness department, and for the reputation of Stanford University. This position is responsible for ensuring that your involvement with DAPER activities maintains the integrity of the University’s reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA, and conference rules and regulations.

The expected pay range for this position is $27.92- $33.80. Placement in the pay range is subject to the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
