Athletic Trainer Manager

Brigham Young University is seeking a motivated and innovative Athletic Training Manager to lead the charge as an advisor to extramural administrators and provides direct supervision to a team of certified athletic trainers. The Manager would interface with both internal and external stakeholders (extramural administrators, coaches, players, Intermountain Healthcare medical staff, and BYU Risk Management). 

 

What You'll do in this position: 

• Develop, promote, and manage strategies for athletic trainers to perform their duties well
• Create and conduct training programs to propel our current services 
• Develop initiatives to attract top talent to BYU who are aligned with the university¿s missions

 

What qualifies you for this role:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in athletic training, Exercise Science, or related field
• Two years or more of athletic training experience in a collegiate recreation setting or equivalent.
• Current First Aid, CPR, and AED Certifications
• Current NATA-BOC Athletic Training Certification
• Current Utah Athletic Training License or eligible
• Adaptable to change 
• High level of communication skill and ability to work well with staff, student-athletes, and physicians 

Preferred:

• Knowledge of effective supervisory practices
• Master's degree in athletic training, Exercise Science, or related field

Employee Class: 3/4 Time (28 hour)

Work Location: Provo Campus

Environment: Periodic exposure to unfavorable conditions. Need to be in variable temperatures or wet environments, etc.

Physical Exam Details:  

Attend sporting events and practices: adverse weather conditions: 2-4 hours: 5-6 times per week: Gear appropriate for weather 

May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and/or other bodily fluids to treat injuries: Various: Various: Gloves, masks, etc. 

May need to lift several heavy items: supplies, injured athletes, etc.: weight variations from 20 lbs to up to 200 lbs (with assistance): Regularly Various Proper lifting Lots of repetitive motion for mending / wrapping injuries

Pay Level: 53

Approximate Starting Salary: $34.25 - $44.50
