Job Summary

The Athletics Broadcast Production Specialist is responsible for producing, coordinating, directing, and participating in the creative development and execution of live-game productions covering a variety of sports, including hiring, managing and training a team of contingent and temporary staff (including student workers). In addition, this position coordinates setup, usage and maintenance of related equipment, which includes budgeting for and presenting annual and long-term expenses. The Athletics Broadcast Production Specialist serves as the primary contact for conference and/or institutional broadcast partners and liaison to the ASUN’s Director of Broadcast Services.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Performs oversight of day-to-day operations within the functional area.
  • Serves as the broadcast producer for all Men’s and Women’s Basketball games, all Volleyball games, and other broadcasts of FGCU’s 15 Division I sports, as discussed between athletic administration, coaches, and broadcast team.
  • Oversees the recruitment, scheduling, training and managing of contingent and temporary event staff (including student workers).
  • Coordinates related equipment setup, usage, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Creates and maintains video assets, still graphics, and animations for video streaming.
  • Ensures accuracy and quality of streaming content. Collaborates with vendors to update systems and/or software, and schedules routine and preventative maintenance.
  • Serves as the primary contact for all broadcast partners and as the liaison with the ASUN’s Director of Broadcast Services for broadcast and other conference-based video initiatives.
