• Oversee all aspects of the Esports program, demonstrating effective communication and planning, strong organizational and administrative skills, and sound decision-making.
• Responsible for the recruitment and retention of Esports team members.
• Organize, plan, and conduct practices, games, and tournaments and hold individual skill instruction sessions.

Position Summary

To serve as the Club Sports Esports coach.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the Esports program, demonstrating effective communication and planning, strong organizational and administrative skills, and sound decision-making.
• Responsible for the recruitment and retention of Esports team members.
• Organize, plan, and conduct practices, games, and tournaments and hold individual skill instruction sessions.

• Work directly with leagues as a liaison for the University.

• Coordinate with the athletic communications office to provide accurate data for game scores and individual and team accomplishments.

• Participate in the development of the whole student-- regarding individual well-being and life skills.

• Help monitor and ensure the academic progress of team members.

• Represent the program with the highest professionalism, sportsmanship, and integrity.

• Foster and maintain a culture that demonstrates a commitment to compliance with all league, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.

• Foster and maintain a culture that demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as trust and mutual respect.

• Provide ongoing input on the design of the esports facility and selection of equipment, as well as preventive maintenance of inventory.

• Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Director of Club Sports and Intramurals.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Other Attributes

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years coaching Esports.
• Detailed knowledge of the Esports industry.
• Experience competing in competitive Esports leagues.

Unusual Working Conditions

Nights and weekends will be required.
