Responsibilities
Review all activities and EMS Athletic schedules with the Assistant Director of Athletics on a weekly basis to determine needs in preparation for upcoming activities and provide feedback to ensure buildings and facility issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Coordinate casual hourly staffing needs in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Athletics and adjust based on event needs.
Train, schedule, and pay all casual hourly building staff.
Oversee all rental group activities.
Solely responsible for supervising and managing the use of the facility on a rotating schedule opposite of the Assistant Director of Athletics to provide the best building supervision.
Develop and enforce all building policies and take a lead role as it pertains to building security recommendations and policies and procedures.
Manage tennis and squash reservations, policies, collection of money and deposits.
Maintain risk management and safety standards for the facility and take corrective action where appropriate.
Oversee and order all mailroom and package room supplies for the Meadows Campus.
Perform routine site visits of Outside Facilities to ensure only authorized groups/individuals are utilizing the facilities and all rules are enforced; check that areas are secured; coordinate with Department of Public Safety as needed.
Serve as event Manager for events as directed by the Assistant Director of Athletics.
Coordinate event set-up with facilities, dining services and public safety; assist visiting teams and coordinate officials needs for events.
Complete oversight of event staff including ushers, ticket takers, clock operator and bookkeepers; coordinate coach’s needs for events.
Coordinate and manage all special events scheduled in the Racquet Center convening space.
Complete routine checks of all Meadows Campus athletic facilities.
Make minor repairs as needed to facilities and equipment and coordinate larger needs with the Athletic Facilities crew or University Facilities.
Develop a strong understanding of all building technology including scoreboards, videoboards, PA systems, etc. in order to troubleshoot, repair, and replace/upgrade as needed.
Ensure equipment and supplies are cleaned up and properly stored after use.
Communicate with building services for all janitorial needs for the Meadow Campus Sports Complex.
Coordinate and assist with the Athletic Facility Crew for routine set-ups for various events including tarp coverage and equipment movement.
Assist coaches with team specific needs such as hanging whiteboards, TVs, locker room modifications, etc.
Qualifications
High School or equivalent.
1-3 years’ experience required.
Ability to communicate effectively with various constituencies
Ability to perform functions with accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience in security.
Adherence to Ivy League and NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Demonstrated ability to make decisions and work with minimal supervision.
Experience in event management preferred.
