The Office of Undergraduate Education at the Pennsylvania State University, in partnership with Penn State Athletics seeks qualified candidates for the position of  Director of the Morgan Academic Center , which provides comprehensive learning services to student-athletes in support of the academic and athletic missions of the University at University Park. The Director reports directly to the Vice Provost and Dean for Undergraduate Education and provides administrative leadership, oversight, and coordination for effective and innovative programs delivered by the staff of the Morgan Academic Center while working collaboratively with senior executive leadership in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics as a member of the ICA Senior Leadership Team. The Morgan Academic Center, which moved into a new facility in June 2016, provides approximately 32,000 square feet of academic support space for use by over 800 student-athletes across 31 teams. The Director manages a team of approximately eighteen, with six direct reports, including learning specialists, academic counselors, and support staff.

The Office of Undergraduate Education is a university-wide organization that works collaboratively to support our nearly 75,000 undergraduate students, and our faculty, and staff across Penn State’s twenty undergraduate campuses. OUE includes the following units: Division of Undergraduate Studies, Morgan Academic Center, General Education, Summer Session, ROTC, Penn State Learning, Prior Learning Assessment, Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center, Student Engagement Network, Student Orientation and Transition Programs, Student Success Center, and Undergraduate Research and Fellowships Mentoring. 

The Director is responsible for ensuring that all staff in the unit are appropriately trained, supervised, and supported in their work with student athletes in support of their success, which includes the necessary understanding of NCAA regulations regarding eligibility and compliance. The Director oversees all academic reporting for internal audiences and required NCAA reports such as Academic Progress Rate (APR) and Graduation Success Rate (GSR). The Director works closely with senior leadership in the Department of Athletics to provide up-to-date actionable data regarding academic performance issues of which the Department of Athletics should be aware and can partner in addressing. In addition, the Director works closely with staff in the offices of Ethics and Compliance and the University Registrar, and with the Faculty Athletics Representative. The Director also serves as a resource member on the University Faculty Senate committee on Intercollegiate Athletics.
