Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Athletics Director of Marketing, the Director of Marketing will be responsible for the oversight, development, and implementation of the Department's marketing and promotional efforts of assigned sports and special events. The Director of Marketing will oversee assigned full-time and part-time staff. This person will be responsible for assigning tasks to achieve the overall goals of the Marketing Department and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, including enhancing the fan experience and generating revenue. The hiring, training and evaluation of assigned staff will be the responsibility of the incumbent.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of progressively increasing experience and responsibility within college athletics, professional sports or marketing/communications field. (Preferred)
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. (Required)
    • Demonstrated skills in conceptualization, development, implementation and review of multi-dimensional corporate and marketing, sales, and promotional programs. (Required)
    • Demonstrated skills in the cultivation of potential media and corporate partners. (Required)
    • Demonstrated management skills and experience in supervising personnel and delegating responsibilities as appropriate; including ability to supervise staff members, student work force and a diverse group of volunteers. (Required)
    • Ability to establish, analyze and improve current cooperative working relationships with donors, ticket holders, University faculty, staff and students and members for the general public and corporate contacts. (Required)
