PURPOSE

The Director of Volleyball for Life Pacific University will be the Head Coach for the women’s indoor and beach volleyball program. Under this direction, it will be his/her duty to staff and recruit coaches and athletes that represent Life Pacific University’s values and beliefs. This position manages day-to-day administrative and operational functions for the women’s volleyball programs including, but not limited to, travel logistics, recruiting, and promotion and marketing of the women’s volleyball teams.

The Director of volleyball is also expected to perform recruitment and meet roster goals, in addition to some administrative duties, such as: ensuring compliance with regulations and overall departmental policies, adhere to all NAIA guidelines and rules, communicate with student-athletes, help promote academic achievement within the WVB programs, monitor study hall and community service work for student athletes.

All other assigned work by the Director of Athletics and will report to the Director of Athletics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Modeling caring relationships with students through personal interaction and as an effective role model of a Christian life.
• Instructing and developing student-athletes in proper skills and strategy.
• Help in Coordinating weekly practices and other instructional times.
• Assisting with the academic success of student-athletes.
• Recruiting student athletes for the Women’s Volleyball program.
• Representing the University at internal and external recruiting events.
• Assist with ensuring compliance with all athletic department requirements.
• Participate in the athletics administration sub-committee, strategic planning, and innovation.
• Assist in managing the program’s fiscal budget.
• Carrying out other Athletics duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• A vibrant and authentic Christian faith and worldview consistent with the College’s Statement of faith which all employees are required to sign.
• A strong coaching background and demonstrated success instructing, recruiting, and retaining student-athletes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and donor development software).
• The equivalent of A bachelor’s degree in health, exercise science or a related field such as sports management is required.
• A master’s degree is preferred.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
