Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the administrative management and programing initiatives of Florida State University's eSports program.
  • Responsible for the management and implementation of FSU's eSports program. Includes the development of eSports leagues, tournaments, and daily management of the eSports facility. Responsible for researching and developing a fee structure. Develops and implements policies and procedures for FSU's eSports program and lounge. Researches and implements best practices for eSports programing and develops proposals for new programs and initiatives. Collects and monitors data and statistical information including but not limited to monthly statistics and annual reports. Collaborates with DSA's Director of Strategic Planning and Assessment to evaluate eSports data trends to help inform program development. Develops and maintains social media presence and effective marketing strategy in facilitation with the Union Marketing team.
  • Maintains strong partnerships with internal and external constituents. Works closely with department and division leadership to expand eSports programing including, but not limited to, academic opportunities, competitive varsity teams, and student events. Primary liaison with ITS, Facilities, and other on campus partners. Facilitates cooperative relationships with the Esports at FSU Registered Student Organization, and the Student Life Cinema Gaming Committee. Supports ASLC programming initiatives and will work directly with SLC student gaming groups. Assist with development and sponsorship opportunities for eSports teams and programs.
  • Responsible for the management of equipment, computer hardware, server, and software for the eSports program; troubleshoots on-site issues related to these components. Responsible for executing software updates and collaborating with vendors as needed. Collaborates with DSA's IT Relationship Manager and Central IT to ensure compliance with best practices related to the maintenance, management, and security of the gaming PCs, server, and network. Works with central ITS to troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Supervise OPS employees including hiring, mentoring, training, and scheduling. Provide regular feedback to all staff on work performance.
  • Assists with special projects and serves on Department, Division, and University committees. Attends Student Union staff meetings and supports Student Union initiatives.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in academic and/or student services; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience in academic and/or student services. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)
