Academic Support Program for Student Athletes

The Academic Support Program for Student Athletes at North Carolina State University supports the recruitment, retention and graduation of NC State student athletes by providing a comprehensive support system that affords student athletes equitable opportunity to pursue academic, personal and professional development while strongly adhering to the principles of integrity, excellence, and lifelong learning.
Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice Chancellor and Senior Associate Athletics Director for Academics, you will support the Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes (
ASPSA
) in coordinating daily operations, managing communications, and serving as a liaison between key academic and athletic stakeholders. As the primary administrative partner to the Assistant Vice Chancellor, you will be central to ensuring the efficient functioning of
ASPSA
, which includes more than 125 staff, student workers, and interns.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate daily operations, workflow, and communications for
ASPSA
and the Assistant Vice Chancellor.
Serve as liaison with
DASA
leadership, Athletics leadership, Enrollment Management, Admissions, Student Information Systems, Human Resources, Finance, and Compliance offices.
Schedule meetings and appointments, set and manage deadlines, and organize meetings and materials.
Develop and maintain systems for managing and securely storing large volumes of sensitive data.
Oversee
ASPSA
budgets and accounts, including estimating spending, reviewing accounts, and coordinating with
DASA
and Athletics business offices.
Provide administrative support for report preparation, presentations, and internal and external communications.
Manage confidential student data and assist the Eligibility Coordinator in communication with Admissions and other entities.
Support personnel administration and general office management functions.

Qualifications
| Minimum Experience/Education |
High School diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or graduation with an associate’s degree in Secretarial Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

| Other Required Qualifications |
- Skilled in managing complex workflows, scheduling, and daily operations in an administrative support role.
- Proficiency with productivity and administrative software, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Calendar),
- Experience serving as a liaison across multiple units
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and accuracy.
- Familiarity with budgeting, account review, and coordinating financial data with multiple business offices.
- Ability to create systems for storing data, compile materials for reports and presentations, and conduct research to support leadership decision-making.
