Job Summary:

Bucknell University, an NCAA Division I FCS institution, and member of the Patriot League Conference, has an immediate opening for a 12 month, full-time Head Football Athletic Trainer. Full time sport assignment is football.

Job Duties:

Clinical (60%)

-Complete oversight and delivery of the health and safety services for the Football student-athletes in the Pascucci Team Center sports medicine facility.

• In collaboration with team physicians, prevent, diagnosis, and treat emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities as defined by the NATA along with rehabilitation of said medical conditions.

• Maintain knowledge of best practices in athletic medicine industry; research and integrate evidence-based training strategies

• Establish, implement, and evaluate best practices and protocols; recommend changes to improve training services

• Serves as a specialist/subject matter expert in specific training areas

Administrative (30%)

-Coordinate and schedule medical referrals when applicable

-Schedule and manage football athletic training staff, interns and students for coverage of all football events (practices, home and away games)

-Work in conjunction with other members of Sport Performance Team to ensure safety in successful design and implement training techniques to meet individual student athlete as well as sport program needs

-Manage insurance claim process

-Oversee football student athlete medical records; daily injury reporting and medical documentation/record keeping.

Education (10%)

-Provide educational programs to student-athletes and staff

-Manage clinical affiliations 

-Update policies and procedures to reflect NCAA, Conference and Institution Health  and Safety-related updates,  legislation, and interassociation recommendations

Minimum Qualifications

-

Bachelor’s Degree

-Two years of athletic training experience

-BOC Certification eligible with preference given to those already certified.

-Must possess a State of Pennsylvania License or be State of Pennsylvania License eligible

Preferred Qualifications

-Master’s Degree

-Collegiate football coverage experience

This position requires availability early mornings, nights, and weekends, as well as traveling with the team for competitions and attending all practices. 

Physical Requirements

-Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

-Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

49,200.00-61,500.00

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy. 

This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
