The Men’s Head Soccer Coach at Colorado Christian University (CCU) is responsible for the overall administration, team and player development, and academic integrity of the Men’s Soccer program. We’re looking for candidates who have:

1. A minimum of five years of college coaching experience at an NAIA or NCAA university is required, with head coaching experience preferred.
2. Master's degree preferred.
3. Experience in a similar private Christian institution is desirable.
4. Strong discipleship/Christian mentorship skills required and the ability to evangelize through the context of athletics.
5. Ability to develop healthy departmental and player relationships.
6. Strong player/student recruiting experience.
7. Successful and competitive track record with a comprehensive knowledge of coaching and the ability to successfully lead a program to perform at the NCAA Division II level. Able to motivate and develop a winning attitude among players and staff.
8. Strong discipline skills and consistency with communication & structure required.
9. Good driving record – the Ability to drive University minivans and obtain a Commercial Driver's License ( CDL) through the athletics department to drive University vehicles.

  Key Job Duties

1. CCU’s mission is Christ-centered higher education transforming students to impact the world with grace and truth. The Men’s Head Soccer Coach is responsible for fostering Christ-centered community and spiritual development among student-athletes, investing in the team’s ability to succeed in their individual academic goals, and providing opportunities for the team to engage with the world through meaningful service.
2. Demonstrate a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and the ability to share your faith in various settings.
3. Implement a discipleship/mentorship program within the team for all men’s soccer student-athletes that helps lead them into a deeper personal relationship with Jesus Christ and encourages them to share that relationship with others.
4. Fulfill the mission, vision, and strategic plan of the CCU Department of Athletics as it pertains to the men’s soccer program.
5. Supervise and evaluate all assistant coaches to the standards set forth for each employee of the CCU athletics department and mentor them as they develop personal coaching skills and talents.
6. Recruit athletically-talented Christian student-athletes, whose faith and lifestyle align with the broader mission and vision of Colorado Christian University.
7. Develop and supervise practices, game planning, schedule arrangements, as well as a strong off-season training and conditioning program.
8. Support and motivate each men’s soccer student-athlete in reaching his full athletic potential to perform at the highest possible level.
9. Effectively manage the program budget and all fundraising.
10. Maintain high academic standards for student-athletes and focus on retaining students in program and at CCU.
11. Meet NCAA compliance regulations, complete the NCAA Recruiting Module, and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
12. Demonstrate a willingness to collaborate with coaches throughout the CCU Athletic Department, as well as other University departments.
13. Be involved with community development, public relations, promotion of competitions, camp development, mission trips, and outreach.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. You will be required to work irregular hours, including some nights and weekends. Local and regional travel is expected. National travel may occur. Colorado Christian University expects all faculty and staff to become a part of the University community by participating in activities and events that occur on the campus throughout the year, which may occur during evenings and weekends.

Pay and benefits will be discussed in more detail as candidates progress through the interview process. The pay range for this job is $50,000 - $60,000 annually. Pay is assigned by reviewing a combination of job-related factors that may include: internal/external pay equity, the salary structure/pay grade, or a candidate’s qualifications/experience for the job. A wage range posted is not a guarantee of a specific wage and CCU reserves the right to make pay decisions based on economic and equity considerations. 1. Committed follower of Jesus Christ, who believes there is no salvation apart from faith in his atonement on the cross, by grace alone becoming "born again" thus beginning a personal relationship with Christ, the Son of God.
2. Able to effectively communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace. Must have a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
3. Regularly attend and be engaged in meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church. Knowledgeable about the Word of God and passionate about Christian education.
4. Must be a traditional evangelical Christian whose lifestyle is in consonance with sound Christian principles, is compatible with CCU’s Statement of Faith, and is in agreement with the Strategic Priorities promulgated by the University.
