The Medical Clerk, Administrative Assistant for the Sports Medicine unit within Virginia Tech Athletics, independently processes student athlete medical bills for payment in HokieMart and inputs billing records into insurance databases and charts. Inputs highly sensitive and confidential medical data into electronic medical records software in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA laws. Will also assist with customer service and other administrative duties such as filing, answering telephones, mail, scheduling, ordering as required by the Assistant Director, Administration for Sports Medicine and the Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine.

Required Qualifications

Experience providing office support and customer service.
Previous data entry experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently with very little direction.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Commitment to diversity.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA and FERPA laws.
