Job Duties:
Assist in monitoring assigned student-athletes academic progress, with regards to University and NCAA academic eligibility requirements
Oversee required study hall for assigned caseload of student-athletes
Provides one-on-one, individualized, and group academic coaching to student-athletes
Fosters interactions with students in a supportive atmosphere where students will achieve self-sufficiency while implementing their educational goals to reach degree completion.
Refers to other departments on campus for resources and/or work with student’s success network members to foster assistance in degree completion
Educates and guides student on how to find FGCU technology (Gulfline, Canvas, Eagle Mail, and other resources).
Liaise with the bookstore as the department representative, communicate and approve orders as needed
Management of Hartley Academic Resource Center facility operations

Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited institution.
Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of post-graduate professional experience working in an academic advising environment, admissions office, or related area in higher education.
Experience delivering student programming both in-person and virtually (such as workshops and orientation).
Experience advising student-athletes at a Division I university.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of theoretical models of college student development and students in transition.
Knowledge of NCAA rules on progress towards degree and academic progress rate (APR).
Knowledge of advising theory and models of development advising.
Knowledge of state statutes and rules of higher education within the state of Florida.
Possesses Interpersonal skills.
Skilled in teaching or ability to present material to audience.
Coordination, planning, and organization skills.
Skill and ability to provide attention to detail.
Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Effective written and oral communication skills, particularly with diverse populations.
