Responsibilities

Responsible for writing and distributing daily and weekly press releases in a fashion which meets all deadlines allowing media and game broadcast personnel ample time to prepare for upcoming events. Responsible for producing and executing comprehensive social media plans for assigned sports.

Serve as the main point of contact with producers, directors, on-air talent and visiting public relations personnel for events and games broadcast on radio,television and streamed on the Internet. Serve as the only media contact for all player and coach interviews, network TV, radio and streaming.

Responsible for the publication of a media guide/record book that is completed prior to the start of the assigned sports' main season of competition. Also, utilize that information to assist the marketing and sales office in producing a game program or similar publication by reaching all deadlines set up between the departments prior to the start of the season.

Responsible for developing, publicizing and promoting feature story ideas to local media, national media and a student-athletes hometown media for assigned sports. Also utilize relationships with local media members and outlets to assist the marketing department in implementing their strategies whenever possible.

Responsible for continuing to develop skills and techniques related to the public relations profession through attendance at conferences or University sponsored lectures including those specifically involving new technologies relevant to the field.

Responsible for producing and assigning media credentials for your assigned sports based on the policies set out by the Florida State public relations office, the FSU athletic department and NCAA. Serve as the main point of contact for media interview requests for both coaches and student-athletes in assigned sports. Continually updating and maintaining statistics, records and photos both during the season and once the season officially ends for archival purposes on the website and in a digital version on shared hard drives.
