The Sport Psychologist/Athletics Counselor will work with the Director of Counseling and Sports Psychology in the delivery of direct psychological and administrative services to specific sports teams and student-athletes competing within a highly competitive, Division I athletics program within the Big Ten Conference. Additionally, the individual in this role will provide consultation and relevant training to coaches, athletic trainers, academic staff, and other athletic department staff within the realm of psychological services and mental performance. This individual will help build a strong, sustainable Counseling and Sport Psychology team to enhance student-athletes’ mental well-being, performance, and overall experience as a Boilermaker.

Required
Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in a mental health related field
Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Indiana as a Mental Health provider (e.g., LP, LPC, LCSW), or the ability to obtain licensure in Indiana within 3-6 months
Training (e.g., degree or specialization) in sport psychology or a related field and/or 0-2 years of experience in providing sport psychology/mental performance services
Preferred:
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program or a related field.
Training (e.g., degree or specialization) in sport psychology or a related field and 2-4 years of experience in providing sport psychology/mental performance services.
Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC)
Prior experience working with student-athlete populations in a Division I athletic department
Ability to communicate and interact effectively, respectfully, and appropriately with diverse populations in the Department, the University, and the community.
Ability to manage dual-relationships while maintaining confidentiality, best practices, and effective communication among athletic department stakeholders.
Experience with and ability to manage crisis situations and communicate timely and effectively with all necessary parties.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with colleagues, student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty, staff, and parents.
Ability to maintain paper and electronic files efficiently and effectively.
Capable of handling multiple tasks in a high stress environment.
Preferred Ct:

Demonstrated experience working with diverse clinical presentations and a diverse student-athlete population.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, coaches, and administrative personnel as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
Ability to work evenings & weekends.
Ability to travel.
Compliance with all NCAA, Conference and Institutional rules and regulations.
Association of Applied Sport Psychology, (AASP), American Psychological Association, APA Division 47, and/or Clinical/Counseling Sport Psychology Association (CCSPA) Membership Status
