Job Summary

 

The FIU Softball program is seeking a part-time Operations Assistant to support team practices and provide limited administrative assistance. This role is ideal for an individual with a baseball or softball background who is passionate about the game and eager to contribute to the daily success of a Division I athletics program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with on-field activities, including hitting fly balls, ground balls, and catching bullpens.
• Help coaches with practice setup, equipment needs, and other on-field tasks.
• Catch bullpens for pitchers and provide support to the pitching staff.

• Operate and feed pitching and hitting machines.
• Might provide administrative support, such as assisting with paperwork, communication, or scheduling as directed by the coaching staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the day-to-day needs of the program.

Minimum Qualifications

 

• Strong baseball or softball background (playing or coaching experience preferred).
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as hitting balls and catching bullpens.

• Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters. 
• During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.
• Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end.

9am-12pm Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri, occasional Saturdays

Advertised Salary

 

$13.00/hour
