Job Summary

 

This role leads in the development, production and distribution of content, with an emphasis on showcasing team, student-athlete, coach and staff stories both on and off the field in short- and long-form video, photography, graphics and other engaging methods. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead the recruitment, training and management of full- and part-time creative content staff members.
• Serve as the primary creative content producer for football as well as overseeing all other sports as well.
• In conjunction with the Director of Digital Strategy, enhance the creative mission and vision of the athletic department while maintaining a consistent, unique brand identity and growing social media engagement and brand awareness.
• Ensure fiscal responsibility while also identifying additional revenue opportunities through creative content creation.
• Oversee various content productions, including cinematic productions, player introductions, long- and short-form content series, promotional videos and commercials, season highlight and recruiting videos.

Job Summary

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Serve as the primary creative content producer for football as well as overseeing all other sports as well.
• In conjunction with the Director of Digital Strategy, enhance the creative mission and vision of the athletic department while maintaining a consistent, unique brand identity and growing social media engagement and brand awareness.
• Ensure fiscal responsibility while also identifying additional revenue opportunities through creative content creation.
• Oversee various content productions, including cinematic productions, player introductions, long- and short-form content series, promotional videos and commercials, season highlight and recruiting videos.
• Produce, coordinate and execute filming of content series, interviews, press conferences, etc., to include directing, set-up, lighting, sound and camera operations.
• Logistically plan for and produce stories and feature content against sensitive timelines.
• Conceptualize, shoot and edit video for social media and FIUSports.com. Archive and organize footage on department-used storage systems.
• Work in a highly collaborative fashion with all brand advancement staff (communications, social media, marketing, promotions, broadcasting and live productions) in the creation, planning and execution of creative content for various distribution channels.
• Collaborate with the Van Wagner partnership team to ensure contractual sponsorship assets associated with creative content are fulfilled throughout the course of the year. Also pitch new activations to the Van Wagner team to help increase potential revenue opportunities on social/digital media.
• Assist with the planning, design, direction and oversight of all video services unit technical operations.
• Adheres to all State of Florida, University, NCAA, Sun Belt Conference, and department rules and regulations. Reports any known NCAA violations or concerns to the Director of Athletic Compliance. Must attend NCAA compliance training every year.

Minimum Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four (4) years of experience or Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of appropriate experience.

Desired Qualifications

 

• Experience managing or overseeing interns, part-time and/or full-time staff.
• Demonstrated experience with professional and broadcast-level video acquisition and production tools (i.e. cameras, professional lighting instruments, media recorders and editors).
• Hands-on experience creating content for social media platforms and other new media delivery channels.
• Excellent organizational, attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills with proficiency on computer applications to execute and deliver completed projects within time-sensitive deadlines.
• Experience with Cinema, DSLR and other relevant formats of cameras and equipment, Adobe Creative Suite and other image productions software.
