Assist in the coordination and administration of the health care program of all student athletes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Adhere to any and all NAIA, Chicago Collegiate Athletic Conference and Olivet Nazarene University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.
Provide athletic training care and services which include: the prevention, recognition and assessment, management and care, health counseling and education, and rehabilitation for injuries and illnesses to student-athletes within the ONU Athletic Department, under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer, Athletic Director, and the medical direction of the Department of Athletics Team Physicians.
Attend athletic practices and competitions in order to provide appropriate athletic training services to student-athletes in the intercollegiate athletic training program. Sport coverage will be football.
Maintain all medical records of student-athletes participating in sports in the intercollegiate athletic program. Assist in the coordination and implementation of the athletic medical insurance policies and procedures. Assist with orders for needed supplies and equipment. Control and organize the inventory of supplies. Assist in maintaining the policies and procedures of the sports medicine department. Maintain emergency action plans for all athletic venues.
Maintain National Athletic Trainers' Association Membership, Certification and Licensure in the State of Illinois.
Perform other related departmental duties as assigned and required.

Certified by the BOC, Illinois State Athletic Training Licensure, and familiarity with NAIA governing rules.
CPR/AED certification required
Other advanced certifications preferred.
Previous experience with electronic medical records systems (sportsware)
Proven history of strong communication skills with coaches, parents, student athletes
Candidates with previous experience with intercollegiate football is will be given preference.
Ability to assist athletes off field and lift up to 50 lbs.
Additional Information
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in accredited Athletic Training Program. Master's degree preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
10-month appointment in the Department of Athletics. Year to year appointment, exempt salary. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will work in a variety of environments, both indoor and outdoor, and in inclement weather. Travel with team is a requirement as well as early morning and late evenings with standard office hours in between.
