The Opportunity:  

DAPER is searching for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Assistant Director, Employee Development and Engagement to join our team. You will be integral to fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth for DAPER staff and coaches. Reporting to the Associate Athletics Director, Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer (“Associate AD”), you will coordinate the department’s onboarding and offboarding plans and processes, participate in the design, implementation and delivery of various employee learning and development programs, and guide employees through the annual performance coaching process. You will also collaborate with the DAPER DEI Advisory Group and other key stakeholders to identify learning and development needs, conduct needs assessments, create metrics reports, and work with the Associate AD to develop engaging content for both new and existing employees.

In this role, you will:**  **

Learning and Development

• Foster a learning culture within DAPER by promoting continuous learning, knowledge-sharing, and innovation.
• Design, implement, and deliver various training and development initiatives, both for individual employees and groups, to address skill gaps, improve performance, and promote professional growth.
• Develop a comprehensive learning curriculum that aligns with Stanford and DAPER’s strategic goals and addresses the skill requirements of different job roles and levels.
• Utilize technology and e-learning platforms to provide accessible and scalable learning opportunities for employees.
• Serves as DAPER’s Learning Management (STARs) Administrator to ensure consistent practices and programmatic outcomes and to track, monitor, and report on compliance training status in (STARs) the learning management system.
• Deploy measurement system to track and report progress on talent management to DAPER HR Leadership.

  

Onboarding, Offboarding, and Employee Engagement

• Assist the Associate AD in designing and executing a comprehensive and sustainable onboarding program which fosters a culture of belonging and ongoing development.
• Support employees as they transition to and from DAPER by coordinating the onboarding and offboarding processes with a focus on ensuring a positive employee experience. Work with HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, and managers to ensure that all onboarding and offboarding steps are completed smoothly and in a timely manner. Facilitate exit surveys and interviews.
• Conduct comprehensive orientation sessions for new hires, introducing them to DAPER culture, values, policies, and perks. Work with managers to facilitate introductions to key department members to help new employees build relationships within DAPER and Stanford.
• Assist with and develop surveys and other data collection mechanisms to determine links between employee engagement and outcomes.
• Assist with the recruitment process for benefits-eligible employees as needed.

   

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• Possess leading subject matter expertise on talent management problems and practices; advise and make recommendations to DAPER’s HR Leadership Team, DAPER senior leaders, and supervisors.
• Demonstrated ability to establish a strong partnership with senior human resources partners and other DAPER leaders.
• Expertise and experience developing and implementing effective talent management solutions, including workforce planning, learning and development, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.
• Strong program/project management skills and experience.
• Ability to build the confidence of others through open communication and respectful behavior.
• Ability to connect with customers, partners, suppliers, and colleagues across functions to achieve significant results.

   

DAPER’s Integrity:

This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford’s intercollegiate athletics program and for the reputation of Stanford University. This position is responsible for ensuring that his/her/their involvement with Athletics Department activities maintains the integrity of the University’s reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students and alumni. Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA and Pac-12 rules and regulations.

  

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.

 

The expected pay range for this position is $83,000 - $100,000 per annum.
