Overview

Provide high quality internal and external communications support, organization and promotions for the Athletic Department. Assist with the management the departmental website, social media effort, and provide game-day, statistical, and media relations support for twenty-five (25) varsity athletic teams.

Responsibilities

1. Media Relations Coordinator: Serve as primary contact for a select number of Catholic’s collegiate programs while acting in a secondary role for all 25 athletic teams. Work with coaches, staff and on-campus offices to ensure accurate information is available and dispersed through proper channels including various athletic conference and NCAA offices. May be expected to travel with primary contact programs for select Landmark Conference or NCAA contests/events.
2. Statistical Management: Provide immediate post game stats and results to visiting coaches upon request, provide coverage at home games in order to ensure proper statistical record keeping, statistical database maintenance, provide stats/summaries upon request, and maintain all student-athlete information records.
3. Website Management: On a daily basis maintain up-to-date, accurate information that is available to website users, including but not limited to game stories, hours of operation, schedules, roster maintenance, staff directory, departmental announcements, archives, photos, press releases, feature stories, etc.
4. Broadcasting Oversight: Responsible for the execution of all Catholic Athletics broadcasts. Oversight and guidance of all broadcasters (student & freelance). Responsible for ensuring quality is in accordance to Landmark Conference & FloSports guidelines.
5. Marketing and Promotions: Coordinate social media, marketing and promotional efforts for varsity sports with oversight of the Director of Athletic Communications.
6. Game Day Productions & Equipment Maintenance: Serve as secondary on-site contact for select home contests. Will oversee assigned workers on a game-to-game basis. Ensure that stats, broadcast, content positions are properly staffed and executed. Regularly check equipment relevant to game day activities to maintain proper functioning/usage.
7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with national, local, university, NCAA, Landmark, and conference laws, regulations, standards and codes. (Note: The violation of NCAA and conference rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications

1. A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
2. A minimum of two (2) years of practical experience in athletics communications and management; and/or an understanding of the intercollegiate athletics landscape and its operational responsibilities.
3.  Familiarity with event production and college and university marketing and communications is strongly preferred.

4. Proficiency in computer software applications and desktop publishing-

   1. Microsoft Word
   2. Adobe Creative Suite - plus in-game software packages (Stat Crew and NCAA Live Stats Software for all relevant sports and the Internet including Sidearm Sports)
   3. Video production capability (i.e. Production Truck and FloSports) and social media platform (i.e. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc) experience highly desired.

5. An attention to detail within the work that the Athletics Communications office produces.

6. Requires a sustained commitment to serve the needs of coaches and students.

7. Due to the nature of contemporary development and responsibilities, work schedules differ from and exceed, typical campus business hours. This position requires a campus presence for a significant number of weekends and evenings throughout the academic year.
