Louisiana Tech University is seeking candidates for an Associate/Senior Associate Athletics Director for Business Strategy/Chief Financial Officer. This is a full-time, 12-month position with benefits and reports to the Vice President/Director of Athletics.
Duties and responsibilities:
Lead the day-to-day operations of the athletic business office including budgeting and reporting, administrative operations, purchasing, and human resources.
Serve on the executive staff of the Vice President/Director of Athletics.
Play a key role in the revenue generation strategy for the department.
Serve as the department’s primary liaison to key university officials and offices including, but not limited to: Vice President/CFO, Comptroller’s Office, Purchasing Office, Louisiana Tech Foundation CFO, and General Counsel.
Oversee the annual budgeting process for the athletic department and its various sports programs and administrative areas.
Work closely with the university General Counsel on the preparation of athletic personnel contracts.
Assist in the annual production of the EADA and NCAA Financial Report in conjunction with the university’s Vice President/CFO and Associate VP/Deputy Athletics Director & COO.

Essential Competencies:
Comprehensive knowledge of financial management best practices within college athletics and higher education.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully with internal and external stakeholder groups.
Ability to work extended hours that are often outside of the normal business schedule such as evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Understanding of NCAA rules related to the position.
Travel required as determined by VP/Director of Athletics.
Direct Oversight Responsibility: Assistant AD/Business Operations & Human Resources, three (3) Associate Directors of Business Operations, Assistant Director of Business Operations.
Qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in accounting, business, or a related field.
Master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of five years of experience working in a similar capacity in college athletics is preferred.

Salary Range of $80,000 to $90,000.
Associate or Senior Associate title based upon qualifications and experience and given at the discretion of the Vice President/Director of Athletics.
