The Athletics Receptionist/Greeter will be a gatekeeper for anyone who enters the Wagnon Student-Athlete Center. The Athletics Receptionist/Greeter is a part-time position (15-18 hours per week) and will be responsible for welcoming all Kansas Athletics guests, visitors and prospects in a friendly, positive manner; answer phones, transfer calls, answer questions, give directions, and manage the flow of traffic in the lobby.
Responsibilities of all Positions at Kansas Athletics:
Adhere to University, Big 12 Conference, Kansas Athletics and NCAA policies and procedures;
Maintain knowledge of departmental activities, sports schedules and procedures;
Foster cooperative working relationships with immediate supervisor and staff members who work within or outside his/her work unit;
Support the athletics departmental goals and philosophies as described by the Director of Athletics, and work to achieve and uphold the department’s mission statement and core values;
Maintain a positive attitude toward performing job duties and working with other staff members;
Exhibit professional decorum at all times while representing Kansas Athletics, including routine events and meetings that occur outside of the office and on the road;
Maintain the confidentiality of all information obtained while an employee of Kansas Athletics including all private, confidential, or sensitive information and ensuring compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
Provide excellent customer service to all guests, visitors, vendors, student-athlete prospects who enter the Wagnon Student-Athlete Center;
Provide general reception duties, including attention to walk-in traffic, incoming and transfer phone calls, correspondence with Kansas Athletics staff members, handle basic inquiries, provide directions, notify staff when someone is there to meet or visit them, and manage the overall flow of traffic in the lobby;
Open the Wagnon Student-Athlete Center (e.g., turn on lights, etc.) and maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere by maintaining a clean and tidy reception area;
Answer a multiple line phone system, manage calls by routing them to the proper extensions or taking messages and delivering them within our message system;
Assist the Athletics department staff and student-athletes by communicating regarding items lost or found;
Maintain confidentiality and integrity with office staff and team-related situations or issues;
Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director of Athletics or their designee.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent;
A minimum of one-year professional working experience in an office setting;
Prior work experience using an email program (Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.);
Excellent customer service focus and skills;
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail and follow-through;
Ability to effectively communicate with people in a pleasant and professional manner and demonstrate professional phone etiquette;
Proven high level of confidentiality and integrity;
Must be available and willing to commit to an average of 15 hours per week, and actively demonstrate commitment by maintaining a consistent and predictable work schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:
