RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage the daily operations of the baseball program.  Hire and supervise 2-4 baseball team managers and interns/hourly employees.  Responsible for administrative duties, field set up and take down, practice plan and game support.  Work with the equipment room and equipment vendors to monitor the program’s daily, weekly and annual needs. • Responsible for annual budget forecasting and projections.  Develop a proposed annual budget for the UW baseball program each year.  Manage and monitor the baseball program’s annual operating budget including team travel, scholarships, housing, meals, parking, recruiting, travel, supplies, equipment, visiting recruits, awards and team banquets.  Monitor all program expenditures during the year. • Direct and manage all aspects of team travel.  In coordination with the Athletics Department Travel Manager, coordinate all decisions regarding reservations and costs for airline travel, charter buses, hotels, and team meals.  Communicate with student athletes and Student Athlete Academic Services regarding travel schedule, and communicate with professors regarding missed class time and exam conflicts.  Travel to all road games and series to manage travel and equipment logistics.  Coordinate home and away facilities for game and practice sessions.  Negotiate contracts for pre-season housing and meals with Housing and Food Service and outside vendors.  Develop menus for all pre-season, pre-game and post-game meals. • Assist the head coach with fundraising for the Husky Baseball program including outreach letters, emails, phone calls, and thank you communications.  Assist with baseball alumni relations programs and updating the baseball alumni database. • Develop and implement an annual community service program or project for the baseball program.  Decide which community service programs the baseball team will participate in each year and schedule the necessary activities. • Work with marketing and ticketing on group ticket sales and comp tickets (donations).  Assist with recruiting by corresponding with the compliance office and individual recruits regarding on campus visits, and assist the recruiting coordinator on itineraries for both official and unofficial visits. • Provide incoming baseball student athletes with information about admissions procedures and requirements. Serve as the program admissions liaison with compliance offices.  Interact regularly with incoming student athletes, their parents, their coaches, and their counselors to provide information during the admissions process. • Assist in providing information to the baseball student athletes about NCAA amateurism rules to ensure they can be certified by the NCAA Amateurism Clearinghouse.  Provide guidance to incoming student athletes about the UW housing application procedures and requirements, and assist with securing on-campus housing upon enrollment. • Monitor all scholarship offers to ensure that athletics aid offered by the baseball program does not exceed NCAA limits or result in NCAA rules violations. • Assist with developing a competitive 56 game schedule in consultation with the Pac-12 Conference and NCAA rules.  Assist in negotiating contracts for all non-conference games and events to include compensation for individual games, series, hotels, dates, game times and penalties for cancellations.  Research potential opponents for pre-season and bye week weekend series.  Correspond directly with representatives from other institutions on game times and practice times.  Arrange logistics for visiting teams, officials and all working personnel.  Direct and manage UW bat girl/boy program. • Coordinate practice set up and take down and the execution of video during practice, pregame and postgame.  Work with the baseball staff and interns on analyzing baseball statistics, analytics and scouting reports. • Assist the head coach in creating a weekly program development plan for the team in general, as well as the position coaches to create weekly individual hitting, pitching, defensive and base running plans.   • Assist the head coach in creating opponent specific practice plans and weekly team goals, while preparing opponents scouting reports for coaches two weeks in advance as well as monthly self-scouting reports. Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree and some college and/or professional baseball experience preferably both on and off the field. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum requirements. Additional Requirements: • Strong organizational and communication skills.  • Computer skills in MS Word/Excel/Publisher.  • Expertise with Trackman and Rapsodo.
