Assist the Men’s Basketball team and staff in all phases and aspects of the program. Represent ONU in all ways well. . Duties include administration in all phases of the programs, including recruiting, player-evaluation, film study and scouting reports, weight-room supervision and conditioning, summer camps, and scheduling, other coaching duties or administrative duties as assigned. The position is under the direct supervision of Head Men’s Basketball Coach.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative and leadership duties in all phases of the program
Directly involved in recruiting through the year, competitive NAIA compliant recruiting
Evaluate prospective student-athletes through game, showcase, and video observation; use as a tool for recruiting
Execute and evaluate practice and game planning, including video coordination
Directly responsible for position skill development in assigned area(s)
Practice implementation alongside other coaches
Track, compile and disseminate practice and game statistics
Off-season conditioning
Assist with the direction of camps, fundraising opportunities, and other program development activities
Scheduling: Help the Head Coach when assigned (Ex. Junior Varsity)
Assist with arranging aspects of team travel including but not limited to: team meals for home and away contests, team lodging arrangements and driving the team bus

Required to obtain CDL passenger license
Assist the Head Coach with office and administrative duties
Previous collegiate playing experience is recommended
Knowledge of the rules and regulations established by the NAIA and the Champions of Character initiative
Demonstrate an ability to improve coaching skills through personal research and innovative thinking
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Knowledge of Synergy Sports tech and video editing
Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, students, and staff.
Self-motivated, flexible and ability to work independently as well as in teams.
Position requires a commitment to student confidentiality
Will require evening and/or weekend hours for various reasons
