In addition, the head coach is to establish an environment in which student-athletics develop as well as mature spiritually, academically, socially and athletically with the purpose of each performer and team reaching their potential. All activities of this position are to make a contribution to the fulfillment of the mission of the university and the intercollegiate athletic department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
To lead and develop the tennis program within the framework of the mission of the university and the intercollegiate athletic department.
Read and follow all provisions as outlined by the policies and procedures manual of the intercollegiate athletic department.
Submit a projected yearly budget and stay within budgeted allotments as set by the athletic director and institution.
Know NAIA rules and regulations to ensure compliance with departmental, university, conference and national policies.
Recruit student-athletes in accord with university, department, and conference requirements and policies.
Ensure assistant coaches and student-athletes are positive Christian representatives of the university at all times.
Promote unity within the athletic department by working in corporation together and by supporting all university personnel.
To establish an environment in which student-athletes develop as well as grow spiritually, academically, socially, and athletically.
Maintain the development and welfare of the student-athlete as the number one priority of the program.
Ensure academic success, focusing on classroom achievement and graduation requirements.
Provide leadership that promotes positive Christian attitudes and good sportsmanship with all student-athletes.
Work with student-athletes in a fair, understanding, tolerant, sympathetic, and patient manner.
To develop, establish, and maintain a winning tennis program within the framework of the mission of the university and the intercollegiate athletic department.
Develop teamwork, morale, sportsmanship, courtesy, fair play, academic excellence and strict adherence to rules of training and conduct.
Demonstrate teaching excellence.
Conduct yourself in all facets of your work according to the highest standards of the profession.
Perform all other duties and/or responsibilities as needed and/or as assigned by the athletic director and/or university administration.
Promote community-wide public relations

Organize the eagle Tennis Brunch
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
High degree of interpersonal skills to represent the university, train and administer in a warm and effective manner
Able to anticipate ebb and flow of office work and delegate work accordingly
Capable of supervising the work of others
Willingness to attend coaching seminars and to improve coaching related tasks
Capable of working without supervision
Ability to inspire others to work together to get the work done
Ability to supervise assistant coaches or other employees
Awareness that behavior and dress should be appropriate for the environment of a Christian university
Ability to explain national eligibility guidelines to coaches, students, parents and prospective families
Ability to lift, pull, grasp, stoop and reach to utilize coaching aides and sports equipment
May require climbing stairs and walking to various offices on campus
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

| Pay Range: $66,560 - $70,000 per year |
