Job Description

• Oversee all aspects of student-athlete development and performance of the Women’s Basketball team, including:

  • Organizing and evaluating student-athletes for recruitment
  • Conducting and supervising practices and player conditioning
  • Developing and implementing event-specific training strategies
  • Monitoring academic progress and personal development of student-athletes
  • Creating a positive and productive environment for student-athletes

• Oversee administrative functions within the program, including:

  • Compliance with all NCAA and conference regulations
  • Budget management, equipment needs, and travel logistics
  • Participation in conference and NCAA meetings

• Engage in promotional and public relations efforts to advance the athletic program, including:

  • Fundraising activities to support the Women’s Basketball program
  • Representing the Department of Athletics at university and community functions
  • Encouraging community service participation among student-athletes

• Promote the University’s core values and build effective partnerships within the campus community

• Ensure optimum service to internal and external partners through clear communication and engagement

• Create an inclusive and welcoming environment for student-athletes, staff, and the university community

• Perform other related duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Extensive knowledge of coaching basketball strategies, tactics, and techniques. Ability to motivate and develop student-athletes
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to recruit high-caliber student-athletes
• Valid Driver’s License
• Proficiency in computer programs used for coaching, recruiting, and analysis

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree preferred
• Collegiate or high school head coaching experience preferred
• Proven ability to mentor and develop student-athletes
• Commitment to compliance with NCAA and University rules and regulations

Physical Demands:

• Ability to demonstrate proper women’s basketball techniques, set-up and move equipment as needed for practice and games
• Set up and move equipment for practices and competitions
• Lift up to 10 pounds as necessary for team-related activities
