Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. This internship within the Michigan State Department of Intercollegiate Athletic Marketing and Fan Engagement office is formulated to provide entry-level opportunities in the sports marketing field.
The Student Engagement Intern will be the primary contact to manage all the student sections associated with the 23 varsity sports (The Izzone, The Munnsters, and the football student section, etc.).
This position, as well as the Marketing and Fan Engagement department, is responsible for the development of campus relationships, street team initiatives, student entry on gameday, t-shirt design and distribution, advertising, social media, attendance data analytics, special events, giveaways and promotions geared to enhance and engage students on gameday and around campus. This position will also manage the Student Rewards app for Michigan State Athletics, including promotion, item redemption, functionality of the app. Additionally, This role will manage a group of student leaders, sub-committees, and street teams to help in the execution of the initiatives previously outlined. The position may also help the marketing and fan engagement office with formatting and executing marketing plans and scripts, executing promotions, corporate partner support, ticketing support and administrative duties.
Preferred candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, sports management or related field.
