Job Description

Position Function:

Provide supplemental strength and conditioning coaching coverage as well as sport science tasks for Olympic sports as assigned by the Director of Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning. Perform other duties as assigned. Must have current certification from an accredited body (NSCA/CSCCa) or be eligible for certification.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist strength and conditioning staff with training needs as assigned. This could include direct team and sport coverage.
  2. Assist strength and conditioning staff with implementation of sport science initiatives, in collaboration with MSU Athlete Engineering.
  3. Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Shira weight room.
  4. Assist with on campus events and competitions for Olympic Sport teams such as warmups, cool downs, recovery efforts, and overall performance education.
  5. Ability to delegate & oversee daily operations and expectations to volunteer and paid intern strength and conditioning coaches
  6. Ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team with sports medicine, sports nutrition, and sport psychology/counseling staffs.
